New Deputy Head of Health Protection for Cheshire and Merseyside

Congratulations to Dr Anjila Shah who has recently been appointed as the Deputy Head of Health Protection for the Cheshire and Merseyside Health Protection Team at the UK Health Security Agency (UKHSA).

Dr Anjila Shah is the lead consultant for gastrointestinal diseases and high consequence infectious diseases (HCIDs) for Cheshire and Merseyside whilst also leading on tuberculosis (TB) for the North West.

When asked about the role Anjila said:

“I am looking forward to supporting Evdokia Dardamissis, head of health protection and the health protection team. I will be focusing on strengthening our partnerships to improve the health of people in Cheshire and Merseyside and help to protect people from the impact of infectious diseases and other health threats.”

Cheshire and Merseyside Directors of Public Health are looking forward to working with Anjila and her colleagues on system priorities going forward.
