Event brings together professionals to develop Cheshire & Merseyside Smokefree Framework

Thanks to over 60 colleagues from across Cheshire and Merseyside who took part in the ‘Co-producing a Smokefree Cheshire and Merseyside framework’ event on Friday 8th March. The special workshop was organised by the Collaborative, with support from the Local Government Association (LGA) and national speakers.

The event was Chaired by Dr Sarah McNulty, Director of Public Health for Knowsley, and Lead Director for Smokefree Cheshire and Merseyside.

Guest speakers at the event included Professor Ian Ashworth, Director of Population Health at NHS Cheshire and Merseyside, Hazel Cheeseman, Deputy Chief Executive at Action on Smoking and Health (ASH), and Scott Crosby, Associate Director at the Centre for Excellence in Tobacco Control in the Humber and North Yorkshire Health and Care Partnership.

The event brought together professionals from across the subregion to share good practice and gather their views on what the Smokefree Cheshire and Merseyside Framework needs to include. A variety of topics were discussed, including communications and social marketing and advocacy, along with a stock-take of what is happening locally.
