National praise for local Public Health Annual Report

Liverpool’s Public Health Annual Report, produced by Professor Matthew Ashton, Director of Public Health for Liverpool, and the area’s public health team, has received extremely high praise from the Association of Directors of Public Health (ADPH).

The report has been recognised at the ADPH Annual Report Celebration as one of the top four public health annual reports across the country. Liverpool’s report focusses on improving the key issues surrounding the growing levels of mental ill health, and the wider determinants which have led to the worsening of health issues, and increased inequalities following the COVID-19 pandemic.

Liverpool’s Public Health Annual Report is just one of nine of its kind published in Cheshire and Merseyside, with other areas in the subregion also publishing report across a variety of innovative and interesting formats, including video reports. Each of these reports aims to improve the understanding of a range of public health topics across the subregion.
