Join us on Friday 9th September for this year’s World Suicide Prevention Day event and to mark the launch of the new Suicide Prevention Strategy for Cheshire and Merseyside.

The theme for World Suicide Prevention Day 2022 is ‘Creating hope through action’ and delegates will have the opportunity to hear from a range of speakers including those with lived experience of suicide and self-harm.

Health inequalities, self-harm, children and young people and men’s emotional wellbeing are all on the agenda and a question and answer session with all speakers will be offered.

Launching the new Suicide Prevention Strategy for Cheshire and Merseyside

At the event, we will look back at the progress over the past five years and launch the new Suicide Prevention Strategy for the subregion.

The strategy has been developed following extensive consultation with a broad range of organisations and people who see the impact first-hand – those with lived experience of suicide and self-harm.

The strategy illustrates that through collective action we can really make a difference. Suicides are not inevitable and by working together we can make a difference to people’s lives, creating hope through collective action.

Who is invited?

This event is open to anyone who works across the public, private and third sector in Cheshire and Merseyside who has a specific interest in suicide prevention. It is also open to members of the Cheshire and Merseyside Lived Experience Network.

Places are limited, however, the event will be recorded and available on the Collaborative’s website and YouTube channel following the event.
