“Tackling health inequalities along the perinatal pathway: the Liverpool Model” will showcase learning and outcomes from a Liverpool-based research and improvement programme which had a focus on alleviating poverty, improving mental health, and reducing exclusion.

Who should attend? Professionals who are passionate about giving every child the best possible start in life, supporting mother-baby relationships and removing socio-economic barriers from pregnancy to parenthood. The findings are also of interest to all NHS services delivering care in areas experiencing high levels of deprivation. We are particularly keen to encourage attendance from people working in Cheshire and Merseyside.

Content As well as posters, creative activities, and workshops, the conference will include sessions on:

  • Why addressing poverty during the early years matters so much
  • Findings from groundbreaking research: Liverpool’s Citizens Advice on Prescription https://arc-nwc.nihr.ac.uk/improving-population-health-3/advice-on-prescription/
  • A showing of the film “When you know: childbirth in the asylum system,” written and produced by mothers with lived experience
  • Launch of the Best for Baby Too legacy website
  • Parent – Infant and Early Years Relationships
