Royal College of Physicians highlights All Together Fairer as best practice example for tackling health inequalities

Cheshire and Merseyside’s combined effort to tackle health inequalities – All Together Fairer – has been highlighted by the Royal College of Physicians in a special series on health equity.

The international body, which represents over 40,000 physicians worldwide, has published a series of spotlight interviews in its ‘Improving healthcare together’ learning hub under the topic of ‘health inequalities’.

As part of the series, Professor Matt Ashton, Director of Public Health for Liverpool and Co-Chair of the All Together Fairer Board, was interviewed by Dr Dan Smith, Editor in Chief of Medical Care: Driving Change.

Cheshire and Merseyside is the only ‘Marmot Place’ to be featured as an example of best practice. Other interviews in the series include a host of Doctors working on improving the social determinants of health, a representative from The Patients Association and the incredibly inspiring Professor Sir Michael Marmot.
