The All Together Fairer Neighbourhoods framework has continued to gain strong momentum since it was published in March by Cheshire and Merseyside’s Champs Directors.
This evidence‑based framework for Cheshire and Merseyside, has been developed to support Health and Wellbeing Boards and wider system partners. It builds on the All Together Fairer commitment to reducing health inequalities across the life course and sets out six guiding principles that underpin effective neighbourhood‑level working. These include:
- Co‑production and community power
- Prevention and tackling inequalities
- ‘One team’ system leadership
- Outcomes‑focused delivery
- Alignment across strategies
- Effective use of local data and intelligence
Since its launch, the framework has gained significant attention. The Association of Directors of Public Health (ADPH) has featured it in both their weekly BriePH newsletter and their monthly eDPH publication.
In addition, the Local Government Association (LGA) has published a blog by Mike Bridges, Consultant in Public Health at Warrington Borough Council and Lead Consultant for All Together Fairer Neighbourhoods.
In the blog, Mike explores how the new framework aims to strengthen prevention and reduce health inequalities across Cheshire and Merseyside, highlighting the importance of collaborative, place‑based action.
Finally, in an article in the Municipal Journal (MJ) magazine, Professor Matt Ashton, Director of Public Health for Liverpool and Co-Chair of the Cheshire and Merseyside All Together Fairer Board, references All Together Fairer Neighbourhoods as a key example of how local coordination can help support national goals on increasing the prevention of ill-health.
