Professor Robin Dunbar, Emeritus Professor of Evolutionary Psychology at the University of Oxford will be a guest speaker at Liverpool John Moore University’s first HITS Faculty Public Lecture of 2026.
Perhaps best known for Dunbar’s Number (the limit on the number of manageable relationships we can have), in this lecture Prof. Dunbar will discuss The Anatomy of Friendship. He’ll explore the behavioural, cognitive and neurobiological bases of friendships, and show how we use these as a basis for forming mega-communities.
The lecture will run from 5.00-6.00pm in the Tithebarn lecture theatre and will be followed by an informal drinks reception.
