We’re delighted to announce the launch of the Champs Public Health Collaborative Specialist Portfolio Learning Hub, a new pilot initiative designed to support public health professionals across Cheshire and Merseyside on their journey towards registration with the UK Public Health Register (UKPHR) via the Specialist Portfolio route.
This innovative pilot is tailored for system leaders across Cheshire and Merseyside who plan to submit their portfolio for specialist registration within the next three years. The learning hub will offer a structured, user-friendly environment filled with curated materials, practical guidance, and essential tools to help participants navigate the portfolio process with confidence.
What to Expect from the Pilot
Participants were offered individual coaching sessions to help create individual development plans prior to the virtual Hub sessions. The first four Hub sessions will be facilitated by Dr Muna Abdel Aziz—Executive Coach and Mentor, FPH International CPD Advisor, and Retired Director of Public Health. Participants will commit to:
- One hour per month for coaching or peer mentoring
- Three hours of protected time on the first Friday of each month
As the cohort matures, the Hub will transition to a peer-led model, empowering members to support one another and welcome new participants into the learning community.
Whether you’re just starting out or already building your portfolio, the learning hub will help provide clarity on expectations, examples of good practice, and shares insights from experienced professionals. It’s designed to demystify the registration process and foster a collaborative, supportive learning environment.
This launch marks a significant step in enhancing professional development opportunities for public health specialists in the region.
