The purpose of this webinar is to facilitate increased uptake and quality outcomes of the annual severe mental illness (SMI) physical health checks whilst addressing health inequalities at system and place. In April 2023 a learning event was held across the region to share learning from those who have piloted the completion of the Equally Well toolkit and share best practice.
This collaborative webinar follows on from this, aiming to identify and overcome barriers to completion of physical health checks and support the development of improvement plans for PCNs and GP practices across the North West.
The session will include:
- Examples of best practice and innovation in delivering physical health checks in SMI.
- Exploring the impact on service users.
- Identifying and addressing barriers and concerns to completing full physical health checks.
- Tools to develop service improvement actions.

This webinar is aimed at colleagues in the North West region who are involved in services that provide and/or support physical health checks for those with severe mental illness, including commissioners, primary care, community care, voluntary sector services and mental health providers.
