The role of a public health practitioner can be challenging one. They are often managing the delivery of many different projects and workstreams across systems comprising of different types of organisations, with multiple stakeholder groups and with a multidisciplinary nature.
This training will equip public health practitioners with the skills and tools to help them be more productive and deliver projects with a defined structure. The focus of the training is on a practical approach to project management, taking them through the whole project cycle from scoping to end of project evaluation.
Alongside the training, learners will receive a project management toolkit, a set of straightforward tools to support them in managing projects. The toolkit is flexible, designed to be adaptable to fit with locally used documentation.
The training is designed to meet the requirements of relevant UKPHR Practitioner standards and the Public Health Skills and Knowledge Framework. It also aligns to internationally recognised project management standards including the Project Management Institute (PMI), ISO 21500:2012 and Global Alliance for the Project Professions (GAPPS).
The training consists of two half day workshops, held via Microsoft Teams, with exercises between the workshops where learners use the toolkit to practice scoping and planning a project.
Learners must attend both dates, and commit to the pre and post-session learning tasks.
