Join the Institute of Health Equity for the launch of the report Fuel Poverty, Cold Homes and Health Inequalities. With fuel poverty on a sharp rise across the country, this report looks at the evidence on why fuel poverty occurs, who it affects, and the impact cold homes have on the health of those living in them. It proposes policy suggestions at both the national and local level that could reduce health inequalities across the UK by tackling fuel poverty and cold homes.

The webinar will be a chance to discuss fuel poverty, its impact on worsening health inequalities, who is most affected by this and what policies could be introduced to reduce fuel poverty and its impacts.

The event will be chaired by Dr Jessica Allen, Deputy Director of the Institute of Health Equity, and will feature the authors of the report:

  • Dr Alice Lee, Research and Clinical Fellow, Alder Hey Children’s Hospital
  • Professor Ian Sinha, Consultant Respiratory Paediatrician, Alder Hey Children’s Hospital
