This virtual session explores how leaders across health, social care, and local authorities can transform the narrative surrounding public services, and communicate with confidence across a range of settings.

It will focus on how to move away from crisis‑focused messaging towards a clearer, more positive narrative that highlights the essential value and impact of health, social care, and local authority services in local communities.

This session will also support participants to deliver narratives to the public. It will explore how to prepare key messages, hold your line under pressure, adapt your delivery across channels and anticipate the media ripple so your words land as intended both in the moment and long after.

The emphasis is on reading the room, bridging back to the narrative, pacing, tone and voice, so you’re credible in the public domain.

Objectives:

  • Defining your organisation’s narrative.
  • How to find and deploy positive messaging.
  • How to communicate you organisations narrative as a leader.
  • Deal with communications challenges.

Guest speakers will include Andy Downton, Head of Media, NHS Arden and Greater East Midlands, NHS Midlands and Lancashire; and Alice Klein, Director of Communications and Public Affairs at ADASS.
