Collaborative’s achievements recognised at the LGC Awards

Last week, Dr Matt Tyrer, Director of Public Health for Cheshire East, represented the Collaborative at the national LGC Awards in London.

The Collaborative’s unique and innovative model of partnership working across nine local authorities was shortlisted in the Public / Public Partnership category, with examples of impact in the award submission ranging from joint communications campaigns, blood pressure projects, All Together Fairer and the extensive work around mental wellbeing and suicide prevention.

Whilst the Collaborative unfortunately did not win the top prize, to be shortlisted and recognised at an incredibly prestigious awards ceremony is excellent news for the local public health system. Feedback from the judges praised the “well established partnership which delivers across a wide geographical area, with clearly identified issues to be addressed”.

Congratulations also to Wirral Council, which was Highly Commended in the Economic Support category at the same awards.
