C&M DsPH weekly update – 24th July 2020

The Cheshire & Merseyside (C&M) Directors of Public Health (DsPH) met for their weekly call on Friday 24th July. The update is as follows:

No More Suicide progress update – The DsPH received a presentation from Pat Nicholl summarising the activity carried out to promote mental wellbeing during lockdown and which elements of the suicide prevention programme will be prioritised moving forward. The DsPH thanked everyone involved for their contribution to this important programme. The presentation can be found here

C&M Test and Trace (TT) Hub update – Julie Webster updated that the C&M COVID-19 TT hub is operating in shadow form with Public Health England and once the rest of the workforce is recruited, it will be fully up and running in the coming weeks. It is hoped then that referrals from the national team and local authorities can be dealt with by the hub. Further updates will be issued as and when there are any changes to current arrangements.

COVID-19 data and intelligence – The DsPH discussed a consistent way of overseeing COVID-19 TT data and intelligence across C&M and it was agreed this would be scoped out to identify what support is required and how this will link with the newly formed C&M TT Hub.

DsPH are meeting weekly and an update will follow.
