Cheshire and Merseyside’s Directors of Public Health have expressed their gratitude to local school headteachers, teachers and support staff for their contribution, resilience and strength during the COVID-19 pandemic.
On behalf of Champs Public Health Collaborative, Cheshire and Merseyside’s Directors of Public Health have written out to schools to thank staff for their amazing efforts over the past 16 months, despite all the challenges posed by COVID-19.
In the letter, the Directors write:
“We understand how incredibly difficult the pandemic has been for schools, headteachers, teachers and support staff, yet your teams have continued to go above and beyond their duties through these difficult times to continue to support and educate young people.
“In many cases, school staff have had to work in different ways and in different locations. We want to send a huge thank you to you all for doing so in such a professional way, working together and providing children with their education when the going has been incredibly tough.
“As the Director of Public Health for your area, please be assured that both myself and my public health colleagues are working closely with our local authority, Public Health England and local NHS colleagues to do everything we can to continue to respond to this pandemic and support you as much as possible.”
