Cheshire and Merseyside highlight workforce wellbeing and development approach at the Faculty of Public Health regional visit

We are extremely pleased to have had the opportunity to showcase Cheshire and Merseyside’s innovative approach to public health workforce wellbeing and development, at the Faculty of Public Health regional visit on Friday 20th March.

Tracy Flute, Assistant Director and Consultant in Public Health for Wirral, and Lucy Hill, Senior Public Health Programme Manager, shared why workforce wellbeing has long been a priority for the Champs Directors, a focus that was amplified during the height of the COVID‑19 pandemic.

They also shared the findings of a previous pilot programme which was designed to better understand the needs of the public health workforce, and how these insights have shaped a refreshed, collaborative approach to supporting staff wellbeing and development. The presentation also highlighted the work already underway to meet these needs, as well as a preview of the new workforce wellbeing and development model which will launch soon.

The visit offered a valuable opportunity to share progress, reinforce best practice, and demonstrate Cheshire and Merseyside’s continued dedication to championing the public health workforce.
