On the 28th April 2026, colleagues from across Cheshire and Merseyside came together for a full day, in-person session at Warrington Town Hall to reflect on progress over the past year and shape future priorities for All Together Fairer. The day provided valuable space to connect, share learning and agree the next steps for the programme.
The day unfolded across three highly engaging sessions: exploring local priorities and collaboration, sharing insights from recent 1:1 conversations between the Institute for Health Equity and the All Together Fairer leads and rounding off with an interactive agree/disagree activity that sparked an insightful discussion. Each of the sessions were designed to deepen shared understanding and strengthen collaboration across the programme.
During the first session colleagues explored a wide range of priorities in addition to system gaps, including the need for stronger community engagement, greater visibility of the socioeconomic duty, and more focused action on racism and discrimination. Recent 1:1 discussions between the Institute of Health Equity and the All Together Fairer leads were also reflected upon, resulting in the need to re-engage system leaders to maintain momentum and ensure the programme’s impact is visible and understood across organisations. This open discussion enabled the wider group to explore the challenge collectively, generating ideas on how to strengthen leadership engagement and demonstrate system wide progress more effectively.
The day concluded with an interactive agree/disagree exercise that sparked thoughtful debate. The activity surfaced several shared challenges within the system and prompted collaborative problem solving around how to address them. Importantly, colleagues reflected that the All Together Fairer Leads space continues to be a trusted, open environment—one that enables honest dialogue, constructive challenge, and meaningful collaboration.
Overall, the day provided much needed time away from day-to-day pressures, allowing colleagues to reconnect, reflect on learning, and collectively identify gaps and opportunities. The energy and openness throughout the day reaffirmed the strength of the partnership and the shared commitment to driving fairer outcomes across Cheshire and Merseyside.
