Sue Forster, Chair of the Cheshire & Merseyside Suicide Prevention Network and Interim Director of Public Health at St Helens, recently presented a briefing paper on the NO MORE Suicide Prevention Strategy to Health and Wellbeing Portfolio Holders across the Liverpool City Region (LCR). These meetings bring together the LCR Health and Wellbeing Portfolio Holders.
The aim of Sue's presentation was to:
- To inform local councillors of the impact suicide has locally and in the sub-region
- To raise the profile of the NO MORE Strategy and collaborative actions to prevent suicides
- To ask councillors to champion local action towards eliminating suicides
The report was very well received by the portfolio holders. Read the briefing paper here.
The next LCR Health and Wellbeing Portfolio Holders meeting will take place on 7th March and will include an update on Mental Health & Wellbeing and Youth Connect 5 by Sandra Davies, Director of Public Health at Liverpool City Council and the Children & Young People Health Profiles presented by Eileen O'Meara, Director of Public Health at Halton Council.
