World Suicide Prevention Day takes place on 10th September, led by the International Association for Suicide Prevention (IASP). The IASP theme for this year’s awareness day is ‘working together to prevent suicide’. Champs Public Health Collaborative have taken this idea forward and are working alongside Mersey Care and partners to promote a ‘Talk2Me’ theme - the aim of which is to encourage people to take the Zero Suicide Alliance’s free suicide prevention training. This gives people the skills required to confidently have a conversation with someone who is potentially at risk of taking their own life.
The Zero Suicide Alliance is a collaborative of National Health Service trusts, businesses and individuals who are all committed to suicide prevention in the UK and beyond. Encouraging people to take the training will assist with Cheshire & Merseyside's commitment to become a region where suicide no longer exists, as part of the NO MORE Suicide strategy and Partnership Board. Visit the ZSA website now to complete the training.
