To coincide with the release of the two children and young people’s health profiles for Cheshire and Merseyside, a Cheshire and Merseyside event with all Directors of Public Health, Directors of Children’s Services, CCGs and elected members took place on 27 March to agree the top health priority for joint working in relation to improving health outcomes for children and young people across Cheshire and Merseyside.
Mental wellbeing with a focus on self-harm was selected as the priority and key issues to address the priority were discussed including:
- What outcome for children and young people is to be changed?
- What is the population to be focused on?
- Who are the partners with a key role to play in changing the outcome?
- What works in relation to changing this outcome
A report with next steps/recommendations is being prepared
