Webinar
2.00pm-3.00pm

This webinar is organised by PHE - please see details below

This webinar focuses on how we can learn from international examples on delivering inclusive economies in action.

The speaker for this webinar will be:  Yannish Naik from the Health Foundation; How can economic development be used to improve health and reduce health inequalities?

Economic factors such as income and the quality of work are key to people’s health. The UK Industrial Strategy places a renewed focus on the use of economic development to address these factors in local places. Alongside this, major trends such as automation and an increasing proportion of the unemployed having poor health present major challenges for action. This session will draw on learning from case studies collected from the UK and internationally by the Health Foundation, the RSA and Demos Helsinki, as well as the broader evidence base to illustrate how economic development can be used to improve health and reduce health inequalities.

The session will provide practical insights into how places can understand local issues and develop shared priorities, capitalise on their local assets and use available levers to develop health-enhancing local economies.

This webinar is aimed at all health professionals working in policy, analyst teams or project teams interested in this agenda.
