This workshop will be held on Thursday 10th October from 12pm to 4pm at Halliwell Jones Stadium in Warrington. Registration will be open from 12 noon and lunch will be provided at 12.30 pm. The workshop will start promptly at 1pm.

The purpose of this event is to share and consult on, the work of the Cheshire & Merseyside Alcohol Harm Prevention Group, a sub-group of the Cheshire and Merseyside Health and Care Partnership. The event will especially focus on the development of acute trust alcohol care teams and the implementation of a common alcohol pathway across Cheshire and Merseyside. This work aligns with recently-announced plans for the development of alcohol care teams through the NHS Long-Term Plan, and a renewed NHS England focus on strengthening alcohol care teams in acute trusts.

This workshop will include contributions from Iain Armstrong of Public Health England’s national team, who will cover recommendations for establishing alcohol care teams and proposed standard pathway, local examples of good practice and a talk from Lynn Owen from Liverpool University who will focus on professional development and standards.
